These super cute swimming fish soaps make bath time fun!
You Will Need:
–Oval Soap Mold
–Clear Glycerine Melt & Pour Soap Base
–Vinyl Goldfish
–Brilliant Blue and/or Sea Green Liquid B&B Colorant
–Bath & Body Safe Fragrance Oil (optional)
-Microwave Safe Melting Container
–Scale (recommended)
-Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol (optional)
Step 1:
Cut the soap base into small chunks and melt in the microwave for 30-second increments until fully melted. Add your desired fragrance oil and mix thoroughly. We recommend using around 2-3% fragrance oil, or about ¼ to ½ ounce per pound of soap.
Step 2:
Add a few drops of liquid colorant and mix thoroughly. Continue adding more drops and stirring until you reach your desired shade.
Step 3:
Pour the soap into the molds, leaving a little space before the rim of the mold and allow to cool. Save a few ounces of soap for the second layer.
Step 4:
When the first layer has mostly cooled, spray the tops with rubbing alcohol or score with a fork to aid in adhesion between layers.
Step 5:
Melt the leftover soap in the microwave and stir vigorously, creating a bubbly, foamy appearance. Tip: You can also add a tiny bit of white soap base for a slightly lighter, more opaque look, like sea foam.
Step 6:
While it is still nice and bubbly, pour the second layer of soap up to the lip of the mold.
Step 7:
As soon as the soap begins to form a skin, add your fish. Push them down into the soap and forward a little bit so that the skin of the soap creates a wake, like the fish is swimming through the water.
Step 8:
Allow the soaps to cool completely, and then gently use your thumbs to release the soaps from the mold. If you have trouble getting them out, place the mold in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes and try again. Enjoy!
