These adorable peppermint soaps are perfect stocking stuffers or holiday gifts!
You Will Need:
–Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base
–White Melt & Pour Soap Base
–Square Soap Mold
–Guest Soap Mold
–Allura Red Liquid B&B Colorant
–Purely Peppermint Fragrance Oil
-Knife
-Microwave Safe Melting Container
Step 1:
Cut your clear soap base into chunks and melt about 8 ounces in the microwave in 30-second increments. Stir in your Allura Red Colorant until it reaches the shade of red you desire (we used about 7 drops).
Step 2:
Add about ΒΌ ounce or less of Purely Peppermint Fragrance Oil and stir thoroughly.
Step 3:
Pour the soap into the Square Soap Mold and allow to cool.
Step 4:
Melt an equal amount of your white soap base but do not add any colorant. Mix in the same amount of fragrance and stir thoroughly.
Step 5:
Pour the white base into the Square Soap Mold and allow to cool completely.
Step 6:
When the soaps are completely cool, pop them out of the mold and cut them into small chunks.
Step 7:
Arrange both red and white soap chunks into your guest soap molds in whatever pattern you like.
Step 8:
Melt some more clear soap base in the microwave. (The amount you need will depend on the size of your mold and how much space the chunks fill. For ours, we used about 4 more ounces of soap.) Do not add any color. You can add more fragrance if you wish, although it is not necessary since the chunks are already scented.
Step 9:
Pour the clear base over the chunks until each cavity is filled, and allow the soaps to cool completely.
Step 10:
When the soaps are completely cool, pop them out of the molds using your thumbs. If you have trouble getting them out, try placing them in the refrigerator for 10 minutes or so and try again. Wrap them in plastic and give as festive, homemade holiday gifts!
